At Freedom of Movement, we’ve always celebrated stories of progress and journeys that inspire purpose and possibility. This time, our journey turns to the sea.
In partnership with SANCCOB, a leading seabird conservation organization, we’re helping to give freedom back to the African Penguin. To date, SANCCOB has released more than 10,000 hand-reared African Penguin fledglings into the wild. With a release success rate exceeding 81%, SANCCOB’s interventions are both effective and scientifically validated; studies confirm that penguins reared at SANCCOB survive and thrive in the wild just as well as their naturally raised counterparts.
Together, we’re protecting nesting sites, rehabilitating injured birds, and supporting sustainable fishing practices, ensuring these penguins can once again move freely along our shores.
