Love the bag, but when you try to clean a little dirt with a damp cloth the color wears off immediately. Is there a better way to clean and preserve the material and color? It's so disappointing

This bag is so lovely, stylish, comfortable and fits a lot in.
Very happy with this practical & sturdy backpack which I use for work.
My daughter is using this backpack for school. She is finding it very comfortable and practical.
The zip for the laptop is rather tight to use once you have a laptop in place and then the small zip is not very user friendly once the bag has been packed.
Having thoughts on the money I spent and how not so user friendly it is.
